Koh Chang. “the island of the elephant”, is the second larger island of Thailand after Phuket. It is very close to the border of Kampuchea, in the province of Trat. with a little more than 300 kilometers in the south-east of Bangkok. At the end of 1982. Close Koh Chang and 46 islands were integrated into the National park of Driven Koh Chang of an entire surface of 650 square kilometers. The island extends on nearly 30 kilometers to north in the south and on approximately 17 kilometers of is in west.

The coasts of the National park of Koh-Chang constitute a spectacular testimony of what nature can carry out. a varied spectacle of splendid sand beaches white. tropical forests. wild jungle. coral reefs of any beauty.  about fifty small islands. genuine jewel cases of greenery in a turquoise water… a feeling of paradise on ground to be discovered absolutely….

History
- Before the 2nd world war, Koh Chang was unknowed and piracy was prolific around the archipel.
- Koh Chang had been the theater of naval battle between Thailand and french warship in 1941.
- Backpackers discovered charm of archipelago in the middle of 70th.
- District was given statut of national park the 31th of december 1982.
- Electricity and phone were only availables in 2000.
- Koh Chang is the 45th of 102 national park in Thailand.
- Te development of Koh Chang started in 2002.
